Jetex Flight Support marks another milestone in its growth history, with the announcement of a successful tender to provide FBO services at Ciampino–G. B. Pastine International Airport (CIA/LIRA) in Rome, Italy. Set to open in the second half of 2017, the Ciampino FBO will herald Jetex’s entry to the Italian market and further expand the company’s European network, which encompasses locations including but not limited to France, Ireland, Spain and Ukraine.

"Opening an FBO in Rome represents an important strategic step in expanding our presence in Europe," said Jetex CEO & President Adel Mardini. As Rome’s main hub for general aviation (GA), Ciampino Airport consistently ranks on the list of top 10 busiest GA airports in Europe. Ciampino saw an average daily departure rate of 21.1 GA flights in 2016, reflecting its position at the heart of Italian business aviation.

"With a rich heritage of over 100 years of operation and close proximity to Rome’s city center, Ciampino remains an important and strategic asset to the Italian airport system," said Mardini. ]]> http://globalfboconsult.me/Newsfeed.php?post=228 AfBAA celebrates 5 years! 5/15/2017 4:12:16 PM Press Release 15 May 2015 AfBAA celebrates five years with launch of AfBAC EXPO and Access Africa

The African Business Aviation Association, AfBAA, today marks its fifth anniversary having launched on the 15th May at EBACE 2012. To celebrate the successful establishment of the dynamic organisation AfBAA will be launching AfBAC EXPO, Africa’s first dedicated Business Aviation Conference, Exhibition and Static Display, at the African Pavilion – Booth V70 – during this year’s EBACE.

l - R Tareq Ragheb, Founding Chairman
& Rady Fahmy CEO

AfBAC EXPO will take place in Johannesburg, South Africa from 29 November until 1 December, 2017 and will be of interest to any international professional or business operating, or planning to operate in Africa.

The conference objective is to inspire and inform through a variety of mediums including authoritative presentations from industry leaders, dynamic panel discussions from experts in their field, video presentations from international companies, and a selection of workshops that will discuss current topics affecting business aviation development in Africa. Training sessions on safety and regulation will run in parallel, as will an afternoon session dedicated to the booming area of remotely piloted aerial systems, RPAS. Building on the success of the AfBAC 2016 conference, content will also be delivered by professionals from outside the aviation sector who will discuss alternative business concepts, and their potential application within the aviation arena.

Once again networking and participation will be encouraged with a programme of social events taking centre stage, whilst during the conference interactive polling and digital questioning will provide delegates with the opportunity to share their feedback in real time.

“We have achieved much in five years, but we know there is still much to do as our journey has only really just begun,” said Tarek Ragheb, Founding Chairman of AfBAA. “We recognise that aviation in Africa doesn’t work in global or commercial isolation, which is why we are launching AfBAC EXPO at EBACE. We want to bring together international professionals to share experience and knowledge in a dedicated environment. With Europe’s strong connections to the continent, we’re hoping to garner a lot of interest during EBACE,” he added.

AFBAC EXPO will also incorporate an exhibition area for companies wishing to showcase the latest innovations, products and services, as well as a static display which is expected to include around 15 aircraft from international OEMS and local operators. Site visits to FBOs and operators at Lanseria Airport will be part of the schedule. It is anticipated that the event will welcome visitors representing the full spectrum of the business aviation sector.

First Access Africa to take place at EBACE

Access Africa, a new international initiative from AfBAA, is also launching at EBACE. The forum has been created to facilitate better understanding of what is required to undertake business within the African business aviation sector. The plan is for the new event to be held during international aviation conferences around the globe. During the 90-minute session, attendees will be transported to Africa, through a trio of concise presentations from leading African business aviation experts, who will outline local issues, share anecdotal experiences, detail what works, and importantly what does not; as well as highlight the points to consider when taking the first steps into Africa

At EBACE these will be Segun Demuren from Nigeria’s EAN Aviation, Nuno Pereira from Angola’s Bestfly and Gavin Kiggen of ExecuJet South Africa. The informal nature of the forum is designed to stimulate frank discussion, open questioning and interaction that will address key concerns from the audience.

“One of AfBAA’s guiding principles is to raise awareness of the continent’s potential and that is what drives us to create these types of events. We are aware that many European companies are interested in developing African business but don’t necessarily have the information they need to hand. Access Africa is about providing tangible, practical information to support these professionals’ endeavours,” says Rady Fahmy, CEO of AfBAA. Access Africa is the second international event organized by AfBAA, the first being the annual African Pavilion at EBACE, and represents the sixth event in the growing portfolio of AfBAA meetings.

Access Africa will take place on Monday 22nd May in Conference Room L of PalExpo, Geneva. There are limited places available for the free event so please email info@afbaa.org for more information or to register your interest.

]]> http://globalfboconsult.me/Newsfeed.php?post=225 Sky Atlas: All-inclusive package for business aviation 5/10/2017 5:55:16 PM Press release - Moscow, 3 May 2017

From 1 May, Sky Atlas introduces a brand-new price list for ground handling and passenger services in Russia, based on the all-inclusive fixed-price package principle.

In Russia, when business aircraft owners and operators receive their bills for ground handling, they are often confronted with a long list of operations that they didn’t order or budget for. It often comes an unpleasant surprise and leads to disputes.

Sky Atlas, the provider of ground handling and flight support in Russia, has introduced a brand-new price list to the Russian business aviation market.

From 1 May 2017, all clients who are arriving at or departing from Moscow Sheremetyevo International Airport can make the process easier by using the new Sky Atlas price list. The list is based on the package principle, where handling services are calculated and a fixed price is quoted. This allows the client to work out their expenses accurately before the flight.

As well as essential FBO services, the price list includes additional options, includingrefuelling, aircraft parking, hangar storage, VIP terminal passenger services and so on. Prices for these services are also fixed in the new price list. This allows clients to choose only the services they really need and to know the cost in advance.

Nicolas Winkel, Sky Atlas CEO, says: ‘We have launched a tool that is mutually beneficial for us and for our clients. For example, a super-middle jet, say, Challenger 605 – its handling will cost only 1600, that’s all. And if the plane is permanently based here in Sheremetyevo, the price will be even less. The price includes an optimal set of FBO services, everything that is essential to make a flight, but it’s no problem to book extras, like refuelling or cleaning a jet. So, the bill will include just two or three items, instead of dozens like it used to.

We’ve chosen Sheremetyevo as our starting point because we’ve got our head office and operations control centre here. But Moscow SVO is just one of the airports where we provide our services. Soon we are going to introduce similar price lists for St Petersburg Pulkovo and all other airports in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States [CIS] where we have representatives. Today, this is more than 140 airports.’

The price list is divided into three levels: Gold is the basic one; Frequent Flyer is dedicated to regular customers; and Premium is for clients who have long-term contracts for apron or hangar aircraft storage. For the first two months, all Gold clients will be granted with Frequent Flyer level discounts.

Sky Atlas provides a full range of business aviation services in Russia and the CIS and now, with the brand-new price list, its clients can add exact costs forecasting to the list.

Sky Atlas has also launched a promotion offer for new clients where they can discover the convenience of using Sky Atlas services and make a decision for regular cooperation.

Download the new Sky Atlas price list here: https://www.skyatlas.biz/upload/%D0%A0ackage_price_SVO_Moscow.pdf

Sky Atlas was established in October 2015 in Moscow. Our main mission is to provide all business aviation related services – from flight support to turn key solutions – in charter flights arrangements and aircraft acquisition.
Sky Atlas is the preferred provider of FBO-related services at Sheremetyevo and Pulkovo International airports. Today, Sky Atlas possesses a network of representatives at 140 airports in Russia and CIS

]]> http://globalfboconsult.me/Newsfeed.php?post=220 First AfBAARS|NBAC launches new Nigerian business aviation organisation 4/7/2017 11:32:43 AM Press release, 7 April 2016, Arena Group

First AfBAARS|NBAC launches new Nigerian business aviation organisation.

The first jointly hosted African Business Aviation Association Regional Symposium and Nigerian Business Aviation Conference highlighted the need for regional stakeholders to collaborate to make real change happen. At the end of the two-day event, held at the Eko Hotel Lagos, 24 and 25 March, Segun Demuren CEO of local organisers EAN Aviation, pledged to form and launch a new Nigerian business aviation organisation within 90 days. Work has already begun on forming the administration and board of the AfBAA Nigeria Chapter which will be launched by July.

The announcement was made following two days of presentations and panels that clearly demonstrated local operators, suppliers, brokers and government bodies all derive benefit from meeting in a dedicated environment to create mutual understanding that can positively affect business aviation in the region. The AfBAA Nigeria Chapter will follow the template of the first AfBAA Country Chapter which was launched in Addis Ababa in May 2016. It has already succeeded under the guidance of local President Dawit Lemma, MD of Krimson Plc, in making great strides in raising the business aviation profile in Ethiopia. The AfBAA Nigeria Chapter will receive ongoing support, guidance and direction from the continent’s official association. “This is exactly the kind of positive action we welcome at these events, and look forward to working with, supporting, and participating in the organisation’s future,” commented Rady Fahmy, CEO of AfBAA. “I encourage all those involved in Nigerian business aviation to join the association to maximise the knowledge sharing opportunities,” added Fahmy.

This was welcome news for national attendees who have had a particularly challenging time following the reduction in oil prices, the Nigerian recession, and a scarcity of Forex. Combined these phenomena have reduced purchasing power, stalled jet transactions and slowed business development. However, Demuren noted that opportunities do exist, and have been bolstered by the appointment of an aviator as the Minister for Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika.

Some 150 delegates agreed that challenges need to be approached with a coordinated strategy. There were numerous calls for stakeholders to submit a list of priorities through the new association to begin to lobby for change to deal with the varying issues of grey charter, complex and long AOC applications, and excessive import taxes for jets and spare parts.

Group Captain Edem Oyo-Ita, Director of Air Transport Regulation at the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority stated that the CAA was willing and ready to collaborate with the sector. He acknowledged the need to amend parts of the aviation regulatory structure that had originally been formulated for commercial aviation. Delegates applauded the significant progress that has already been made by the CAA in creating an automated permit process making it easier for unscheduled last minute requests to be processed in a timely manner.

Several new additions to this year’s schedule were well received. A dedicated helicopter operators panel with representatives from Bristow Helicopters, Nestav Aviation, and Caverton Helicopters, congratulated the chief pilot of Genesis Global Aviation, Captain Abayomi Coker, on the recent awarding of its AOC. Continuing the challenge as opportunity theme the panel discussed the notion of exploring operational diversification in the tourism, medevac, security, bullion movements, and emerging mining markets

The first Women in Aviation panel was also well received by the predominantly male audience who confirmed that women bring a diverse and valuable set of qualities to business aviation including relationship building, efficiency, loyalty, organisation and a balanced view of business opportunities. A call was made for AfBAA to raise the profile of the sector’s opportunities for women, and to create engaging, attractive strategies that would appeal to women at early stages of their career selection.

A meet the operators speed-networking session also spawned new relationships as Nigerian operators met with local and international suppliers keen to work with them, whilst potential customers took the opportunity to search for the right aircraft for their specific mission.

Nick Fadugba, the chair for this year’s meeting closed the event suggesting that Nigerian Business Aviation must work harder, closer, collaboratively, and with one common purpose to enhance business aviation in Nigeria. As one delegate quipped, “Nigeria should be heaven for business aviation.” With the launch of the AfBAA Nigeria Chapter organisers expect this to the be the first step in that direction.

]]> http://globalfboconsult.me/Newsfeed.php?post=213 BBGA highlights the need for change 3/9/2017 11:47:37 AM

PRESS RELEASE - BBGA highlights the need for change at 43rd annual meeting

A bolstered British Business and General Aviation Association (BBGA) meets for its annual meeting at a new Luton Hoo Hotel venue today. Membership has been strengthened, especially with more operator members, following the recent partnership with EBAA, whereby all UK members of the latter automatically become members of BBGA. This has seen a boost in membership from 122 to over 170 companies.

Some 120 plus of them will be in Luton to listen to the theme ‘Embracing Change Together.’ Topics due to be covered include Brexit; the desire to continue with EASA regulations and to embrace ‘Single European Skies’; and securing the concept of ‘Assured Clients’ and ‘Approved Organisations’ with the Home Office, DfT and CAA to enable transparent, safe and efficient transfer of repeat business into the UK.

Following a welcome address from BBGA Chairman, Marwan Khalek, delegates can look forward to presentations from a range of industry influencers, including Martin Rolfe, CEO of NATS; Chris Leach, CEO of Air Charter Service who will reflect on his long and glittering career in charter broking and how the industry has evolved with the general diversification/consolidation in the industry. Delegates can also look forward to presentations from Brian Humphries, President of EBAA; and discussing Brexit , Sir Gerald Howarth MP, together with the UK CAA’s Andrew Haines and Clyde and Co’s Mark Bisset.

With the emergence of new business models, airline hybrids, a robust MRO and aviation services market (as operators hold on to older aircraft for longer) versus industry concerns over a shortage of pilots and licensed engineers, lack of access and threatened small airport closures, Alex Berry will chair a session on future trends later in the afternoon. Joining him are Carol Cork, Privatefly, Surf Air CEO Simon Talling-Smith; Oriens Aviation CEO and SETops proponent Edwin Brenninkmeyer. Richard Mintern, Chairman of JMC Group and ELMS Aviation joins to bring a different perspective to the session drawing on his decades of experience in airline engineering and latterly the commercial helicopter industry.

A significant part of the day will be the ‘Visions and Values’ presentation led by Sewells, a company with significant experience in reviewing change programmes for corporate businesses and associations. It has been engaged by BBGA as an independent to do a top to bottom review of the Association and what it stands for, engaging with members and non members as it seeks to address what can our association do for you.

With the uncertainty over Brexit, the BBGA has decided there is no better time to evaluate what it’s doing for its members, and is therefore currently part way through a process of deciding exactly how the association should focus its resources to offer the best service possible.

Sewells has already overseen initial consultation inside and outside BBGA’s membership through a gathering in January 2017, attended by over 40 industry decision makers in business and general aviation. The association is now working through a schedule with the guiding coalition – made up of 15 volunteers from the aforementioned forty attendees – to establish the BBGA’s mission, vision, values and objectives. The ‘Visions and Values’ session at the BBGA annual meeting will continue to try and ascertain the needs and preferences of its members.

CEO of BBGA, Marc Bailey, commented: “We are the biggest national association and have an important part to play looking after our membership. The partnership with EBAA is very strategic and we are working hard with them and other European industry bodies to ensure strong national associations where we can work together with a joint strategy and act with one voice. With this in mind, it seemed like the perfect timing to formally assess how we can best use our growing position of influence to keep the UK business aviation thriving.

We therefore look forward to hearing the opinions from more of our members at our annual meeting.”
